some perks of ghettoville

Other than being with my wonderful, awesome, award winning, could totally kick your husbands butt then fix it again husband, I have found some perks to being here in ghettoville:

They have these at the Harris Teeter, they are right at the front, and they love kids here. You don't get the dirty looks like you do in Utah when you drag your kids to the store and they are being a little too loud or blocking the isles while they dance to their made up song about cereal. people stop you to tell you how cute your kids are.

And I thought this was funny- yes we are living in the promised land at least people in Texas are, according to where this milk is produced

you know what I just realized?

I have a camera phone. And I've taken pictures with it. And I could probably post those pictures on my blog. And it's really sad when your camera phone takes better pictures than your 150$ digital camera. This first one is not that great quality but I absolutely love it! Gordon and Lily playing guitar hero. Most likely on a Sunday that's why Gordon looks so spiffy- I think I need to do a post about Gordon and what a cute boy he is - yes,yes I do, be looking for it

Niels swinging, it was our first time at a park here in ghettoville. I had my mom and Nic scope it out first.

Our day at Wilmington Beach- Yeah we live by the beach and it really wasn't such a bad drive. Just be careful the speed limit is 55 I learned that the hard way after this fun day. I can't wait to get my pictures back the kids decided to go in the water- but I'll save that for later. Lily is ticked because this is the 5ooth picture I took, and she was all out of poses.

Tired baby.

C is for cookie

My mom and younger sis, Nic, came to visit me for a few weeks. They left on Tuesday and it took everything I had not to cry all day. It was so nice to have them here. No, it was way more than nice- it was spectacular! I had actual adults to talk to. And someone to make dinner for- who knew I'd actually enjoy making dinner- ever. And other than me being a tad uptight (I'm sure Nicole would say more than a little) and getting a speeding ticket -grrr!! We had a great time. I've been waiting for Nic to post some pics of the trip on her blog so I could steal them but she is a busy girl. And all of mine are on film. So, here is a pic of my new favorite treat that Nicole introduced me to; Great Harvest chocolate chip & walnut oatmeal cookie

People- I am not exaggerating in any way by saying that these are the second greatest cookies ever made. Plus they give you a punch card and every time you by a six pack you get a punch and when you fill up that card you get a free loaf of bread (I think it should be a free bag of cookies though)
I know what you're thinking; if these are the second what is the first? Subway Sandwich chocolate chip cookies. And I'm not just saying that because I get them for free (thanks Nic & Dave) they really are so very good and chewy and yummy especially right out of the oven-
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm cooooookieeeeesssss.
I know where I'm going tomorrow-one punch closer to my free loaf of bread.

thanks Wendy!

My friend Wendy has gone through a very rough thing lately and I'm always surprised at how well she handles everything. She sent me this and I thought I'd share it with all of you! Very inspiring.
