Would you believe that after all my whining and complaining about being in the armpit of America I only have 4 months left? Crazy! These are pictures of two of my helpers; my younger brother Shawn and older brother Christian. After Chris spent most of the day packing my car for me and showing me that he is the champ at real life Tetris, Shawn graciously drove my car and belongings cross country & made it just in time to make his flight back to Utah. Chris did such an amazing job we were even able to shut the doors! If being a Chiropractor/Mr. mom doesn't work out I think he'll always have a job in the packing industry. Now if only I can convince them to do it again in 4 months, hmmm....
One year ago today I had to call my midwife, Suzanne, and let her know that the attempt to get my labor going the day before had failed even though I was dilated to a 7 & nine days over due. Gary dropped off our minis at Mimi's and Suzanne showed up to really get things going, after all Gary was only going to be here for the weekend and one day had already been wasted. Suzanne broke my water and a few hours later I had a healthy (that's putting it lightly) 9.5 lb 24 in baby boy! It was divine intervention that Gary was able to be home for the birth and I know it had alot to do with many prayers being said on our behalf. After fretting about what to name our newest member , Gary insisted I settle on a name before he had to leave, Niels Hansen Jorgensen was the perfect fit. Niels has been such a blessing. He has been the happiest baby. You can never get mad at this kid, even at 3:30 in the morning and he wants to play all he has to do is smile at me and he can do no wrong. Even though this has been one of the most stressful years of my life, Niels has helped by reminding me why it's all worth it.
so of course I don't have any baby baby pics of Niels so here are a few most recentPlaying in the rain, this is the night Niels decided he could jump after watching Lily jump in a puddle, he doesn't leave the ground but he sure does put a lot of "oomph" in it.
Here Niels found some mud and decided to give himself a facial and see if it tastes any better than the mush I'm feeding him (as a side note Gary did not authorize the purchase or wearing of this shirt, he thinks it looks like something a grandma would wear)
This is one of our movie nights, Niels got into the popcorn bowl and was pretty proud of himself
(Carol if you're reading this do you recognize the bowl?) Niels' new found enjoyment; carrying around anything that is almost bigger than him
Kail doesn't think he can dance, he knows he can dance! I stole this video from Jan's so if you've seen it on hers it's the same. -But well worth a second look. We went to this Alligator Adventure on a day that was too cold for the beach. The music was full of mesmerizing drum beats (could have used more cowbell) and as Jan said by the time we left Jan & I couldn't hold back & we busted out a few moves of our own. Kail loves to break dance. He wants to take classes when we get back home- anyone know of a good place to learn in Utah? I think the other minis do a great job dancing too. You go E!
Don't worry Jan when I go back I'll make a special trip to the Alligator adventure and see if they have the soundtrack available.
I just wanted to give a big shout out to my in laws for letting me and my minis crash their vacation at the beach. We had so much fun and I know the kids really enjoyed themselves. We all miss you and can't wait to get back home. Thanks again, Norm & June for everything!!!
& I have to share with you this super cute dress that June bought for Lily.
Lily said (this past sunday) "Oh I must wear that cutest dress that makes me twirl"
Alright already, I'm back, you can all stop bugging me to post again (wahwah)
We had so much fun at the beach! Jana and I literally took hundreds of pictures, I am not exaggerating - hundreds! It was hard to narrow it down but I did and I'm sure I'll post more in the future but here are some of my favorites:
Kail & his best cousin E
Lily running away from those terrifying waves family picture time at first we couldn't get Lily to stop and smile but by the end she wouldn't stop the last few pics are of me getting up and us dispersing except Lily who wouldn't stop hamming it up We would get up do our thing in the morning have lunch then get ready and go to the beach once we got set up Niels would fall asleep- perfect! The first two days Niels didn't want anything to do with the sand or water he stayed under the makeshift tent Jan & I made then the last day he decided it was all okay and ventured out. this is how Jan & I looked for the most part; covered (we don't want any wrinkles now that we're 30 we've got to get serious about this - didn't you know pale is the new tan?) bytheway Jan- I think you look pretty darn cute in your dollar store hat
How cute is this girl?
and how cute is this little family? how cute is this kid? or this kid? (where did O learn his modeling skills? must be watching ANTM)
Jan entertaining Niels before his daily nap
Lily & E the bathing beauties building a sandcastle I love this picture of E
Grandpa J & Niels
and my all time favorite picture, Jan's face says it all. This girl is going to wish she had covered herself up more when she turns 30 and she's nothing but laugh lines and crows feet (he he)
